We, the Grace Foundation…

Your Working Girl is not sure if you’ve been kept in the loop on the brouhaha with the New Brunswick foundation asking Justin Trudeau for a refund on his speaking fee, but she didn’t want the weekend to close without sharing.  Chairperson, Ian Webster confirmed a couple of weeks ago that the charity was no longer seeking a refund from Mr Trudeau.

And where there was once 10 board members, now there is five.  Among the departed include:

  • Ms Sue Buck, the author of the refund request letter
  • Ms Judith Baxter,  who brought Ms Buck’s letter to the attention of  “family-friend” Conservative MP Rob Moore who promptly delivered it to the PMO with a dash of righteous indignation.
  • Robert MacAndrew who thought the event was “grandiose” to begin with, plus it was a distance for him to travel to the meetings
  • Terrence MacNeill, executive director of the 80-bed nursing home, the cause for which the Foundation was fundraising

As for Conservative MP Rob Moore, he is now The Honourable Rob Moore, Minister of State (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency).

Have a great weekend.
